Third Session Of The Season...
Watching the EA river levels website all week indicated the Trent was running off fairly quick, though it was still higher than I expected arriving on Sunday 15th July. Trees, large branches, barrels, weed, etc... lined the banks indicating how high the river had been. Setting up using 9oz feeders these were still rolling no more than 20 meters out into a steady flow. Using Teme Severn Lamprey boilies and pellets prouced an early double header at around 3pm though i recieved no more takes until 11-30pm when a 6lb fin perfect barbel was landed. James who accompanied me had a 7lb 0oz barbel and an eel, fishing further down stream he was aiming to find the slacks though he too found it hard work. Overall a fairly difficult session but it wasn't a blank. With more rain expected at the end of this week i don't think the rivers will be dropping down to their usual summer levels just yet!
