February Update..

I have only been out a handful of times through February, with limited success. Blanking on the Tidal Trent however was a real 'head-scratcher' as conditions appeared ideal for the pike and barbel to be on the feed. However with a rod out for each species, neither played ball.

On 17/2/13 i went out with Lincoln 48 PAC on a Lincolnshire syndicate water which holds a good head of pike, however only 2 were landed on the day and my monkey climbers remained unmoved all day. The highlight was seeing 4 buzzards spiral over the woodland behind the swim.

The blanks finally ended whilst fishing a Lincolnshire water which i pre-baited lightly 4 days before planning to returning to the swim; worryingly the day before i planned to fish the swim i biked past to find someone sat in the swim with bob floats all over the area i had pre-baited. Undeterred I fished the swim the next day and managed to land 2 low double figure pike. I am now looking forward to my next planned session on the estate lake with the aim of either landing my first pike to the drifter float or on the fly (wind conditions depending).
